Yonara Valerio Barred Following Allegedly Illegitimate Use of an SBA Loan

Yonara Valerio (CRD #: 5754141), a former broker registered with JP Morgan, was barred by FINRA, according to her BrokerCheck record, accessed on September 1, 2021.

On August 3, 2021, Yonara Valerio consented to the findings that she refused to appear for on-the-record FINRA testimony. She also allegedly failed to provide information requested by FINRA. The regulator had been looking into Yonara Valerio’s application for a Small Business Administration grant and loan without a legitimate purpose.

On October 21, 2020, JP Morgan fired Yonara Valerio after she applied for and received a loan, allegedly without a legitimate business purpose. According to CityWire, this was part of a broader effort by JP Morgan to crack down on “inappropriate” use of an Economic Injury Disaster Loan following the pandemic.
