Tim Plant Subject of a FINRA Suspension
Tim Plant (CRD #: 4188055), a former broker with LPL Financial, has been suspended by FINRA, according to his BrokerCheck record, accessed on September 14, 2021. Details of the suspension are provided below.
On July 21, 2021, Tim Plant entered into an Acceptance, Waiver, and Consent (AWC) agreement, in which he consented to the findings that he participated in private securities transactions by placing trades in retirement accounts with another firm. Tim Plant allegedly executed trades worth $500,000 across 13 accounts. When asked on a firm disclosure firm if he had participated in private securities transactions, Tim Plant allegedly answered “No.”
As part of the terms of the AWC, Tim Plant has consented to a $5,000 fine and a five-month suspension. You can read a copy of the AWC here.
On July 31, 2019, LPL Financial fired Tim Plant following allegations that he violated firm policy regarding using discretion in brokerage accounts without written authorization from the client.
