Thomas Sapio Suspended by FINRA

Thomas Sapio (CRD #: 1848346) has been suspended by FINRA. This is according to his BrokerCheck record, accessed on September 4, 2025. Keep reading if you have questions regarding his alleged conduct. 

Regulatory Action 

On June 30, 2025, Thomas Sapio entered into an Acceptance, Waiver, and Consent agreement (AWC), in which he consented to the findings that he failed to reasonably supervise two traders who allegedly inaccurately marked the value of their positions on their trading books to conceal from their member firm millions of dollars in unrealized losses. 

As part of the terms of the AWC, Thomas Sapio consented to a two-month suspension and a $5,000 fine. You can read a copy of the AWC here

Employment Separation After Allegations 

On June 16, 2025, NatWest Markets Securities permitted Thomas Sapio to resign for the same allegations regarding a failure to supervise. 

Failure to Supervise 3110

FINRA Rule 3110 requires that firms establish systems of supervision to maintain their compliance with securities regulations. Their systems of supervision should be able to catch unsuitable recommendations.
