On February 10, 2024, Theodore O’Neill voluntarily resigned from Ascendiant Capital Markets following allegations that the firm was investigating whether he published research reports outside the firm without having the reports reviewed or approved by the firm. A FINRA representative is also looking into the matter.

FINRA Rule 2241 requires brokerage firms to review their representatives’ research reports in order to identify any conflicts of interest.
