Sara Qazi Suspended by FINRA

Sara Qazi (CRD #: 4118177), a broker registered with Raymond James, is the subject of a FINRA suspension. This is according to her BrokerCheck record, accessed on February 14, 2024. Keep reading if you have questions regarding this broker’s alleged conduct. 

FINRA Suspension 

On November 6, 2023, Sara Qazi entered into an Acceptance, Waiver, and Consent agreement (AWC) with FINRA in which she consented to the findings that she participated in a private securities transaction. A firm customer allegedly purchased $250,000 of preferred stock in a healthcare company. Sara Qazi allegedly did not provide written notice to Morgan Stanley prior to participating in the transaction. 

From June through July 2020, Sara Qazi allegedly distributed a written presentation prepared by a healthcare company. The presentation allegedly did not disclose any of the risks associated with an investment in the healthcare company’s private offering. She also allegedly distributed a financial model prepared by the healthcare company to a firm customer which allegedly did not disclose any risks or limitations associated with the offering. 

FINRA Rule 3280 – Private Transactions

FINRA Rule 3280 requires brokers to seek approval from their firm before engaging in private securities transactions.

FINRA Rule 2210

FINRA Rule 2210 defines how firms and brokers are permitted to communicate with the public (e.g., in advertising). This rule requires all communications with the public to be fair and balanced and free from any false or misleading statements.

Terms of the AWC 

As part of the terms of the AWC, Sara Qazi consented to a three-month suspension and a $15,000 fine. You can read a copy of the AWC here

Resignation from MSSB 

On March 12, 2021, Sara Qazi was permitted to resign from MSSB. This followed allegations that she engaged in outside activities that were not approved by the firm.

  • SIE – Securities Industry Essentials Examination
