J.P. Morgan Fires Monica Laguna

Monica Laguna (CRD #: 6286123) was fired by her firm, according to her BrokerCheck record, accessed on June 26, 2022. Read on if you have questions about Monica Laguna’s conduct as a broker.

Discharge from J.P. Morgan Securities

On April 14, 2022, JPMorgan Chase Bank fired Monica Laguna after allegedly violating firm policy by making several cash deposits to her personal affiliate bank account under the Cash Transaction Reporting threshold.

Firm policies do not allow multiple cash deposits under the cash transaction reporting threshold to prevent “structuring.” Structuring is a tactic often used in money laundering. Money launderers may want to disguise the true amount of their deposit by splitting it up into smaller deposits. FINRA Rule 3310 requires firms to have anti-money laundering policies in place.
