Maria Valido is the Subject of a Suitability Dispute

Maria Valido (CRD #: 6324596), a previously registered broker with Infinex Investments, is the subject of an investor dispute. This is according to her BrokerCheck record, accessed on June 20, 2024. Keep reading if you have questions regarding her alleged conduct. 

Investor Allegations 

On April 16, 2024, an investor alleged that Maria Valido recommended an investment that was unsuitable in light of the claimant’s desire for safety and principal preservation. The investor is seeking $100,000. 

There is another dispute dated September 10, 2021. An investor alleged Maria Valido made false representations to the claimant. The investor further alleged that she acted with gross negligence that was outside the standard of care for a reasonable financial advisor.

FINRA Rule 2111 requires brokers to evaluate whether an investment strategy fits their investor’s financial goals. Brokers must examine the investor’s profile, which contains the following investor characteristics:

  • Age
  • Risk tolerance
  • Time horizon (i.e., how long the investor plans to hold the investment)
  • Investing experience
  • Tax status
  • Financial goals
