Between March 2018 and October 2020, Letisha Clarke-Ekwunife allegedly formed and co-managed a photography and DJ business. The AWC alleges that she filed tax returns and corporate documents on behalf of the business, and reinvested the business’ revenue into its operations.

Letisha Clarke-Ekwunife allegedly falsely claimed that she had not engaged in any undisclosed outside business activities on two annual compliance questionnaires provided to J.P. Morgan.

The AWC concludes that this alleged conduct violates FINRA Rules 3270 and 2010.

FINRA Rules 3270 and 2010

FINRA Rule 3270 requires brokers to disclose to their firm any employment, contracting, or other business they engage in outside their firm. They must inform their firm of their role in the business and what compensation, if any, they expect to receive.

FINRA Rule 2010 requires brokers to uphold high standards of commercial honor. Violations of many FINRA rules are automatic violations of FINRA Rule 2010.
