Investor Alleges Larry Ware Recommended Unsuitable Structured Products
Larry Ware (CRD #: 3053841), a broker registered with Avantax Investment Services, allegedly gave unsuitable investment recommendations, according to his BrokerCheck record, accessed on May 16, 2023. On April 5, 2023, an investor alleged that Larry Ware made unsuitable recommendations of structured products between August 2021 and May 2022. The client alleged that these products were not suitable for their risk tolerance. This dispute is currently pending.
FINRA Rule 2111
FINRA Rule 2111 requires brokers to tailor their investment recommendations to suit investors’ profiles. These profiles describe an investor’s age, tax status, and other characteristics.
Investors who rely on their broker for recommendations may be able to recoup their losses through FINRA arbitration.
