Kurt Berry is the Subject of an Oil and Gas Investment Dispute

Kurt Berry (CRD #: 4550773), a previously registered broker with Vanderbilt Securities, is the subject of an investor dispute. This is according to his BrokerCheck record, accessed on December 19, 2023. Keep reading if you have questions regarding this dispute. 

On November 14, 2023, an investor alleged that Kurt Berry represented that Resolute/Petrorock investments were safe investments, consistent with their objectives of generating income and preserving their principal investment. 

Oil and gas investments like Petrorock are subject to volatility and are generally not suitable for investors who want conservative investments. In this case, Petrorock was allegedly an instrument of fraud that representatives used to enrich themselves. 

The investors alleged that Kurt Berry represented that the investments were not correlated with the stock market and would not experience volatility. They also alleged that he touted the investments’ tax benefits and did not offer a balanced presentation of the risks. Kurt Berry allegedly downplayed the disclosures concerning risks as simply mandatory disclosures. 

The investors are seeking $473,000.
