Investors Allege Kevin Canfield Failed to Advise About Variable Annuity Rider

Kevin Canfield (CRD #: 2286759), a broker registered with MML Investors Services, is involved in a pending investor dispute, according to his BrokerCheck record, accessed on June 25, 2025. Read on if you have questions about his alleged conduct as a broker.

Investor Disputes

On May 2, 2025, multiple investors filed a dispute alleging that Kevin Canfield failed to advise the owner of a variable annuity to activate its guaranteed minimum income benefit rider, resulting in the owner losing the right to this benefit.

The dispute further alleged that the owner had invested his retirement savings in the variable annuity, and that the rider would have provided a guaranteed annual income of at least $30,000.

Kevin Canfield allegedly advised the client to close his variable annuity and invest in a money market fund. This dispute is currently pending.

On January 4, 2016, an investor alleged that Kevin Canfield allocated the funds in his account without his knowledge in March 2015. This dispute was denied by the firm.

In a dispute filed on February 4, 2015, multiple investors alleged that Kevin Canfield misrepresented variable annuities purchased in November 2014 and January 2015. The firm denied the dispute.

However, investors can still pursue FINRA arbitration and potentially recover their losses even if a firm denies their dispute.
