Jeremy Baldwin Faces 5-Month FINRA Suspension

Jeremy Baldwin (CRD #: 5743175), a broker formerly registered with Brokers International Financial Services, has been suspended by FINRA, according to his BrokerCheck record, accessed on November 15, 2024. Read on to learn more about his alleged conduct as a broker.

Suspension by FINRA

On October 4, 2024, Jeremy Baldwin consented to the entry of findings that he allegedly engaged in an outside business activity between August 2017 and August 2022 without providing prior written notice to Brokers International Financial Services.

According to a Letter of Acceptance, Waiver & Consent (AWC), Jeremy Baldwin allegedly acted as an investment advisor representative for a 401(k) plan outside of his employment with Brokers International, including by facilitating employee enrollment and acting as an intermediary between the 401(k) sponsor, provider, and administrator. He allegedly received compensation from the 401(k) sponsor for these services.

Jeremy Baldwin allegedly did not provide prior written notice to Brokers International before engaging in this outside business activity, in violation of firm policy, and also falsely attested on five annual firm questionnaires that he did not have any undisclosed business activities.

The AWC further alleged that Jeremy Baldwin falsified another broker’s annual compliance questionnaires in March 2018 and April 2019.

The AWC concluded that these allegations constitute violations of FINRA Rules 3270 and 2010.

FINRA Rules 3270

FINRA Rule 3270 requires brokers to disclose any business activities they engage in outside their firm, as well as any compensation they may receive from these activities.

FINRA Rules 2010

FINRA Rule 2010 holds brokers to high standards of commercial honor and just and equitable principles of trade.

Sanctions

Jeremy Baldwin consented to the following sanctions:

  • 5-month suspension from associating with FINRA members

His suspension began on October 7, 2024, and will end on March 6, 2025. You can read the full AWC here.
