David Rockwell: SEC Actions Following Terminations and Criminal Charges

Pending Regulatory Action

On September 9, 2020, David Rockwell was indicted on six counts of wire fraud and two counts of bank fraud. He pled guilty and was sentenced to 63 months in prison and ordered to forfeit $1,018,000. (United States V. David Aaron Rockwell, Case No. 2:20-cr-107.) The SEC alleges that David Rockwell formed, owned, and operated Gralyn Financial, a purported financial service firm. David Rockwell allegedly misappropriated monies and took out loans totaling $700,000 in his clients’ names without their knowledge or permission. He allegedly transferred the loans to an account he controlled. David Rockwell allegedly used $400,000 of that money to buy a home in Florida.

The SEC further alleges that David Rockwell duped a client into providing $418,000 for the purpose of investing in real estate. David Rockwell allegedly used $318,000 of the money for his own uses, including paying credit card bills and purchasing Harley Davidson products.

Investor Disputes

On September 24, 2020, an investor alleged that David Rockwell obtained loans in their name without authorization. The investor sought $2,000,000; the dispute settled for $415,000.

On July 12, 2019, investors alleged that David Rockwell engaged in forgery and fraud. The investor is seeking $700,000; the dispute is pending.

On June 29, 2019, an investor alleged that David Rockwell misappropriated money from his investment accounts to invest in a private security related to a company that Rockwell owns. The investor sought $500,000; the dispute settled for $215,000.

Regulatory Actions

On November 22, 2019, FINRA alleged that David Rockwell failed to respond to a FINRA request for information, resulting in a bar.

Employment Termination

There are two employment separations on David Rockwell’s record. World Choice Securities fired him on June 21, 2021, following allegations that David Rockwell misrepresented that he would use an investor’s $400,000 for a real estate deal that allegedly never happened.

Cetera Advisor fired David Rockwell on November 14, 2018, following a notification that Rockwell had been charged with a felony.

Criminal Charges

On September 28, 2018, David Rockwell was charged with aggravated stalking. He also pled guilty to a battery misdemeanor on May 24, 2013.
