On October 29, 2024, Christopher Coffey consented to the entry of findings that he allegedly forged client signatures on two variable annuity withdrawal forms in September 2022.

He allegedly also failed to inform the client before forging the signature and submitting the forms.

FINRA Rule 2010 holds brokers to high standards of commercial honor and just and equitable principles of trade. Forgery violates this rule.

What is a Variable Annuity?
Variable annuities are complex investments. They are insurance products that come with an investment component. The associated fees, surrender charges, and potential tax liability can negate any supposed benefits they offer. The issuer of the policy may also compensate the brokerage firm, which creates a conflict of interest.
Termination by Allstate
On December 15, 2023, Allstate Financial Services fired Christopher Coffey following allegations that he submitted variable annuity withdrawal forms containing non-genuine signatures.
