On May 28, 2024, TIAA-Cref Individual & Institutional Services fired Ryan Brown following allegations that he did not fully educate some clients on the merits of transferring their accounts to TIAA in advance of the scheduled transition versus waiting for the automatic transfer of their accounts. 

Misrepresentation 

FINRA Rule 2020 prohibits the use of deceptive, manipulative, and otherwise fraudulent methods to influence the purchase and sale of securities. The misrepresentation or omission of material facts violates this rule.
