On April 11, 2025, Matthew Verbit was fired from GFI Securities following allegations that he used a firm-sponsored credit card to take out advances for himself and others. He allegedly also knowingly paid the balance on the card using linked bank accounts that had insufficient funds in order to make additional credit available.
