Jay Craddock Allegedly Guaranteed Returns

Jay Craddock (CRD #: 3176206), a broker registered with Edward Jones, was recently the subject of an investor dispute, according to his BrokerCheck record, accessed on November 30, 2022. Read on if you have questions about his conduct as a broker.

Investor Dispute

On September 30, 2022, an investor alleged that Jay Craddock guaranteed the client would receive 5% annual returns, but the client experienced market loss. The client sought $220,000 in damages but the dispute was denied by the firm.

Investors should be aware, however, that firms can deny disputes without an outside review. Investors may be able to recoup their losses by seeking out FINRA arbitration following a denial.

FINRA Rule 2150 forbids brokers from providing guarantees against loss in clients’ transactions or accounts.

FINRA Rule 2010 holds brokers to high standards of commercial honor and just and equitable principles of trade. Violations of FINRA Rule 2150 may also violate this rule.
