Resignation from NewEdge Securities

On November 1, 2024, Harold Klein resigned from NewEdge Securities following his suspension by FINRA for allegedly electronically signing documents on behalf of 58 clients.

FINRA Rule 2010 holds brokers to high standards of commercial honor and just and equitable principles of trade.

FINRA Suspension

On October 15, 2024, Harold Klein consented to the entry of findings that he allegedly falsified the electronic signatures of 58 clients on a total of 145 documents from January 2018 to September 2020.

According to a Letter of Acceptance, Waiver & Consent (AWC), Harold Klein allegedly had permission from clients to electronically sign their names on the documents, including account applications, feature forms, and transfer forms. The AWC further alleged that 46 of the 58 clients were seniors.

Further, Harold Klein allegedly attested on three firm compliance questionnaires that he had not signed or affixed another person’s signature on any documents.

The AWC concluded that this alleged misconduct violated FINRA Rules 4511 and 2010.

FINRA Rule 4511

FINRA Rule 4511 requires firms to keep accurate and up-to-date books and records.

Sanctions

Harold Klein consented to the following sanctions:

  • 3-month suspension from associating with FINRA members
  • $5,000 fine

His suspension began on November 4, 2024, and will end on February 3, 2025. You can read the full AWC here.

Termination by LPL Financial

On April 17, 2021, Harold Klein was fired from LPL Financial following allegations that he electronically signed account documents on behalf of clients.
