Ed Bridwell Allegedly Exercised Disctretion Without Authorization
Ed Bridwell (CRD #: 1783191), a previously registered broker with FBL Marketing Services, has been suspended by FINRA. This disclosure appears on his BrokerCheck record, accessed on October 21, 2024. Keep reading if you have concerns about his alleged conduct.
Regulatory Action
On September 4, 2024, Ed Bridwell entered into an Acceptance, Waiver, and Consent agreement (AWC) with FINRA in which he consented to the findings that he exercised discretionary power to effect transactions in customer accounts without obtaining prior written authorization from the customers and without his member firm have accepted the accounts as discretionary.
As part of the terms of the AWC, Ed Bridwell consented to a 10-day suspension and a $5,000 fine. You can read a copy of the AWC here.
FINRA Rule 3260
Unauthorized trading violates FINRA Rule 3260, which limits brokers to exercising their trading discretion in pre-approved discretionary accounts.
