Bill Darby Allegedly Moved Money without Consent

Investor Allegations
On June 30, 2024, investors alleged that Bill Darby moved money without their consent and set up structures that were counter to their objectives. They also take issue with commissions associated with bond trades.

Regulatory Action
On December 10, 2019, Bill Darby entered into an Acceptance, Waiver & Consent agreement (AWC), in which he consented to the findings that he effectuated wire transfers in response to emails from an imposter. The wire transfers totaled $511,870. He also allegedly falsely advised that he had received verbal confirmation for the transfers from the customer.
The findings also stated that Bill Darby executed sales of securities in the customer’s account in a total amount of $525,896 without the customer’s knowledge or authorization.
